Hong Kong Biodiversity

Hong Kong is shaping a more sustainable and liveable future with its updated Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (BSAP). Hong Kong launched its first city-level BSAP in 2016, which was then updated in 2025. Building on the first BSAP and reflecting the latest global and national biodiversity initiatives, this update adapts to local circumstances and needs, and integrates the voices and feedback of our community. The updated BSAP sets out strategies and priority actions to guide Hong Kong and societal efforts over the next decade to protect biodiversity and promote sustainable development, and support both national and global efforts to create harmony between people and nature by 2035 the earliest.
